We are so excited about the support of the Aetna Foundation for our Wellness Integration Program. Through their generous grant of $50,000 over two years Holladay Elementary in Henrico County, Patrick Copeland Elementary in Hopewell, and Marguerite Christian in Chesterfield County are implementing the Wellness Integration: Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds program. Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds is a two-year comprehensive program to improve students wellness through physical activity and healthy eating. Fit4Kids CEO Mary Dunne Stewart says, “We look forward to expanding our program through this two-year partnership with the Aetna Foundation. Because of this support, thousands of local students will move while they learn and will be given the opportunity to sample fresh fruits and vegetables.”

Students have tasted a wide array of fruits and vegetables including spinach, cucumbers, grapes and snap peas! We even tried fruit infused water with fresh lemon, lime or orange slices.
