According to an article in the Richmond Times Dispatch,

“A record 2,985 cyclists pedaled for the fourth annual Anthem Moonlight Ride, according to a release from the Sports Backers. In 2011, the event had a total of 2,085 participants.”

A moment of silence was held in memory of 24-year-old Lanie Kruszewski prior to the race, who was struck and killed by a car on Sunday night while riding her bike home from work along River Road.

Greater Richmond Fit4Kids was the official event charity of the Anthem Moonlight Ride, and executive director Mary Dunne Stewart served as the official starter for the event.
