Summary: Greater Richmond Fit4Kids seeks to hire an experienced diversity, equity, and inclusion consultant(s) to provide training and lead dialogue with staff and board, conduct an assessment of current policies, culture, and practices, and develop a D&I plan that will provide the framework for the organization’s upcoming strategic planning process.

Fit4Kids Background: Greater Richmond Fit4Kids is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving children’s health and wellness and reducing childhood obesity in our community. We do this by offering innovative programs that promote physical activity and healthy eating. Fit4Kids works with numerous schools and community partners in Richmond, Chesterfield, Henrico, Petersburg, and Hopewell. We reach more than 10,000 children each year through our innovative programs.

A note about our work: Last year, Fit4Kids partnered with 40 public schools reaching more than 10,000 local students. Roughly 80% of the students participating in Fit4Kids programs are children of color (55% African American, 20% Latinx, 19% White, 3% Asian, 2% Multiracial).

Purpose: The purpose of this project is to assess diversity, equity, and inclusion in Fit4Kids policies, culture, program delivery, and practices in order to create a D&I plan.

Expected deliverables include:

-Review and report to Board and leadership on existing programs related to culturally-relevant and inclusive content

-Training for staff and board on equity, diversity, and inclusion

Facilitated discussions with staff and board on how these issues relate to the work we do (at least three dialogues)

-Review current personnel policies and make recommendations. Also provide guidance on staff recruitment and retention.

-Work with leadership to create action plan including goals, metrics, and evaluation mechanisms to track progress

Successful proposals will include:
