Introducing our new Game On, Girl! Program Coordinator, Nan Peña! She is super excited about working with the Game On, Girl! program and feels strongly about the importance of physical activity and mentorship for adolescent girls. Nan has actually been with Fit4Kids as a Garden Educator for the past 3 years; you may know her as Farmer Nan!

She stays active by tending to her home garden, spending time outside hiking and foraging, and walking her dog but she loves a good dance workout too! She enjoys attending the many events and festivals that Richmond has to offer such as Friday Cheers, Folk Fest, and the weekly South of the James Farmer’s Market (currently a drive-through market that has temporarily moved to Bryan Park in Northside).

Nan has rarely met a fruit or veggie that she doesn’t enjoy but her absolute favorite would have to be eggplant or asparagus. Although her favorite hobby is cooking meals from scratch using fresh ingredients, her current guilty pleasure is supporting local restaurants by ordering way too much takeout.
