Spring 2017 Internship Now Available!

Greater Richmond Fit4Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving children’s health and wellness and reducing the prevalence of childhood obesity in the Richmond region.

We’re currently seeking candidates for Spring 2017 internships! Interns will have the opportunity to work directly with programs such as Eat Fresh RPS, Learning Gardens, Safe Routes to Schools, Food Explorers, and Active Recess. Interns will also assist staff with administrative tasks, data collection and entry, social media, etc. to achieve organizational goals. Additionally, we will be introducing a new program this spring called “Game on Girl,” with the goal of increasing physical activity among adolescent girls!

We are looking for candidates who are motivated, hardworking, able to work independently, flexible, patient, who work well with children, and are able to provide their own transportation (as much of our programming is done off-site). Prior experience with health and nutrition is not necessary, however a passion for both is highly encouraged. On site training will be provided. Applicants are required to submit a background check prior to service with Fit4Kids.

Internship will be 15-20 hours a week, January-May. No stipend provided.

Public Health, Anthropology, Sociology, Social Work, and Health, Physical Education and Exercise Science (HPEX) majors are strongly encouraged to apply.
