Program Coordinator

Are you passionate about improving kids’ health through physical activity and healthy eating? We’re looking for a Program Coordinator to join the team at Greater Richmond Fit4Kids! As a Program Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and managing volunteer projects, supporting the Program Manager in developing and piloting new programs, and working with our Policy team on community engagement.

About the Position

Fit4Kids is hiring a Program Coordinator for a newly developed position. As we expand and develop new programs, we need a new team member to support this growth. This is an entry-level full time position and includes benefits including health/dental and retirement. Salary hiring range is $38,000 to 41,000.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage corporate and other volunteer events to support Fit4Kids programs
  • Support the development of new programs focused on early childhood and high school age students
  • Lead programming when necessary to fill in for other team members

Qualifications:

  • Availability to work in person 
  • Reliable transportation to visit schools in Hopewell, Henrico, Richmond, and Chesterfield. A mileage stipend is provided. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to a healthy lifestyle
  • Experience in any of Fit4kids program areas is a plus – gardens, physical activity, sports, biking and more!
  • Experience working with groups of children and leading educational sessions
  • Motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong attention to detail and multitasking
  • Experience interacting with ethnically and socio-economically diverse communities and the ability to integrate into an existing school community
  • Knowledge of Google Drive for communicating with colleagues, and reporting program data
  • A background check is required
  • This position requires lifting and moving garden supplies and sports equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and working in outdoor weather conditions.
