Clavel (she/her)

Katie Daniel

Sam graduated from VCU in 2021 with a degree in Health, Physical, & Exercise Education (HPEX), specializing in Health Sciences. Her long-standing passion for helping others took on new meaning during her internship with Fit4Kids, where she discovered a deep commitment to promoting health and wellness amongst youth. Sam loves watching kids play and enjoy themselves and finds it incredibly rewarding to be a part of that joy. In her role with Fit4Kids, she’s especially dedicated to moving beyond a “one-size-fits-all” approach to physical activity, empowering students in our Game On, Girl program to explore diverse ways to stay active and make choices that support their well-being. This commitment makes her role deeply fulfilling, and she proudly considers herself a lifelong advocate for the organization! Beyond her program work, Sam also mentors dozens of college students each year as a site supervisor for our internship program, by guiding them towards careers in the healthcare field.

Sam stays active herself by spending as much time outdoors as possible, by hiking, walking, and attending local sporting events—especially baseball, basketball, and soccer, which she both watches and plays, for fun!
