Below you will find Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade active Math lessons. The SOL is listed along with the purpose of each lesson to help you find an appropriate Math lesson. Please check in from time to time as we update our webpage as we create new content.

Find the One’s Place | 1.2a, 2.1a | Identify the one’s place value through movement. |

Fraction Frenzy | 1.4b, 2.4a&b | Sort fractions into the appropriate groups. (K: fourths and halves; 1^{st}: fourths, thirds and halves) |

Hoop To It | K.1b | Practice counting and forming groups of a given number. |

Hopping by Two’s | 1.1d, 2.2a | Skip count by twos in order to assemble a puzzle. |

Place Value Boot Camp | 1.2a | Practice grouping numbers by 10s and 1s to better understand the concept of place value. |

Poppin Count | K.1b, 1.1d, 2.2a | Put numbers in order and count to 30. Put numbers in order and skip count by 5’s or 10’s to 100 (or to a stopping point the teacher finds appropriate). |

Round Em Up | 2.1d | Sort numbers by rounding to the nearest tens. |

Skip Counting | K.3a, 1.1d, 2.2a | Review number identification, and practice skip counting patterns. |

Addition Cone Maze | 1.6, 2.5 | Practice addition facts by completing a series of addition problems with a partner. |

Addition Number Line Hop | K.6, 1.6 | Hop on a number line to show addition and subtraction. |

Addition Subtraction Number Line Relay | K.6, 1.6 | Relay to collect addition/subtraction cards and place the sum/difference on a number line. |

Double It Up | 1.7, 2.5b | Recall basic addition facts with an emphasis on “Doubles Facts.” |

Math Fact Match Up | K.6, 1.6, 1.7b, 2.5b | Use addition and subtraction strategies to solve math facts, through 12, while working in a relay with classmates. Kindergarten may use concrete objects when solving. |

Math Tag | Many SOL’s | Review any math topic by playing a game of tag. |

Rock Around the Clock | 1.9b, 2.9 | Practice telling time using a large clock. |

Tick Tock Set the Clock | 1.9b, 2.9 | Manipulate the minute and hour hands to represent analog times. |

Geometry | SOL | Purpose |

Shape Relay | K.10a&b, 1.11a&b | Review the names of shapes, shape attributes, and practice identifying shapes by name and characteristics. also review the location of the shape. |

Shape Shuffle | 2.13 | Review the names of shapes and the number of sides, vertices, edges and corners. |

Sort Those Shapes | K.10a&b, 1.11a&b | Sort themselves by shape and use the attributes to do an assigned movement that corresponds to the shape. |

Super Shape Sorting | 2.13, 4.11 | Sort shapes into plane (2-Dimensional) and solid (3-Dimensional) categories. Using alternate cards, be able to sort shapes into circle, triangle, square, and rectangle categories. |

Probability and Statistics | SOL | Purpose |

Game Graph | K.11a&b, 1.12a&b, 2.15 a&b | Play games and create an object or bar graph to show the class favorite. The student will interpret the information displayed on the class graph. |

Graph Fit | 2.15a&b | Collect data and graph the number of exercises they are able to complete in a given time. |

Roll, Graph, and Exercise | K.11a&b, 1.12a&b | Roll the dice, color the graph, and perform the associated exercise. |

Taking Tallies | N/A | Practice counting and representing numbers using tally marks. |
